With the power of artificial intelligence, Microsoft 365 Copilot transforms your expression into a powerful production tool
Redmond, Washington, D.C., March 17, 2023- Microsoft Corporation announced that it will bring the powerful capabilities of a new generation of artificial intelligence to its workplace productivity tools through the international version of Microsoft 365 Copilot. Microsoft Copilot combines the powerful capabilities of Large Language Models (LLM) with business data and Microsoft 365 applications to help users unleash creativity, unlock productivity, and upgrade various skills. Currently, Microsoft is testing the Microsoft 365 Copilot with some commercial customers.
Microsoft 365 Copilot will bring customers a brand new experience in two ways
Microsoft 365 Copilot not only provides a better way to accomplish the same task, but also offers a new way of working. Copilot will assist Microsoft 365 customers in better performing their work in two ways:
Firstly, Copilot will be built into Microsoft 365 applications that users use every day, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and more.
Today, Microsoft also announced a new experience - Business Chat. Business Chat will be applied to large-scale language models, Microsoft 365 applications, as well as users' calendars, emails, chats, documents, meetings, and contacts, to accomplish things that users previously could not achieve. For example, users can propose 'Tell my team how to update our product strategy' through natural language, and Business Chat can generate a progress update report based on morning meeting content, emails, and related chat records.
With the support of Microsoft 365 Copilot, everything is under customer control. Customers can decide what to keep, modify, or discard. With these new tools, people will have more freedom of creativity in Word, sharper analytical power in Excel, richer expressive power in PowerPoint, stronger productivity in Outlook, and better collaboration in Teams.
Microsoft Global Vice President Jared Spataro, Global Business Unit of Microsoft 365, stated: Microsoft 365 Copilot is capable of combining large-scale language modeling capabilities with your data and applications, transforming your language into a powerful productivity tool. Based on customers' business content and background, Microsoft 365 Copilot delivers results that are relevant and feasible. Copilot is born for the enterprise, built on Microsoft's comprehensive security, compliance, and privacy requirements, as well as responsible artificial intelligence principles. It marks the beginning of A new era of computing that will fundamentally transform the way we work.
A brand new way of working
Microsoft 365 Copilot seamlessly integrates into the applications users use every day, helping them maintain smooth work flow, freeing them from tedious tasks, and focusing on the work at hand.
Copilot in Word enables people to write, edit, summarize, and create with them while they are working.
Copilot in PowerPoint can convert ideas into designed presentations through natural language commands during the creative process.
Copilot in Excel can help users unleash insights, identify trends, or create professional forms of data visualization in a short period of time.
Copilot in Outlook can help users integrate and manage their inbox, saving more time for practical communication.
Copilot in Teams can provide real-time summaries and to-do items directly from the conversation context, improving meeting efficiency.
The Copilot in Power Platform introduces two new features in Power Apps and Power Virtual Agents, allowing developers of various skill levels to accelerate and simplify development using low code tools.
Business Chat gathers data from documents, presentations, emails, calendars, notes, and contacts, helping users summarize chat content, write emails, find key dates, and even develop plans based on other project files.
Based on Microsoft's AI guidelines and responsible AI standards, as well as decades of research, and following existing commitments to enterprise data security and privacy, Microsoft has built the Microsoft 365 Copilot. The large-scale language model of Copilot is not trained for customer content or individual prompts. Microsoft 365 Copilot will provide large-scale enterprise level artificial intelligence.
Earlier this month, Microsoft launched the world's first "Intelligent Passenger" international version of the Dynamics 365 Copilot for CRM and ERP systems, allowing the new generation of artificial intelligence to provide comprehensive services for business application innovation. Nowadays, the 'Smart Passenger' will be extended to all Microsoft productivity tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Microsoft Viva, Power Platform, and more. Specific details regarding pricing and licensing will be announced soon. Microsoft 365 Copilot has been tested in a small number of customers to obtain necessary critical feedback for improvement during model expansion.
